The Day of Love

What a nice Valentine's Day!  Jeremy and the boys got me a strawberry bouquet....the are dipped in chocolate...yikes!  But no worries, I think Jeremy might eat them all before I let them mess up my diet :-)

Today - only ONE Dr. Pepper!! Yep, I didn't even think about it until tonight...how cool!!??

Saturday morning is the big day!  My first "weigh-in".  I am nervous....but excited! 

My left hand is still bother me a bit...another chiropractor appointment tomorrow.  I'm also getting my hair did!!  hahaha!!!  I'm trying to let it grow back out...who remembers when it was this long???

What's my goal?

I know that I need to get on here and state my goal.  What is my mission?  What do I want to achieve?  How will I know when I'm done?  Will I ever be done? 

Well, let's see.  At this time, the ultimate weight goal that I have is too far away and in my mind, too unrealistic to even think about achieving.  So, I need to look at a smaller goal and then go from there...

My most immediate goal is to feel better.  I am so freaking uncomfortable.  My chiropractor said that for every 10 pounds you lose you are taking 5 times that amount of weight off of your joints.  How awesome is that???  I know that just my small changes will do wonders with how I feel.  Here are some of my small changes:
  • 2 Dr. Peppers a day - this is a change from 5 to 6 a day.
  • NO Bojangle stops in the am - I love a good biscuit and sweet tea...and also a Bo-berry Biscuit.
  • No snacking at night...this is very hard - a trait I totally get from my dad...LOL.  I am trying to substitute snacks with water.
  • I have been packing my lunch....instead of sandwiches on bread, I have been putting it on a tortilla shell and using salsa to dip. 
  • When dinner is over, I clean up right away....instead of grazing the hour after dinner.
I know, I know....I will need to do more than that get to my long term goal....but it is a start to get some basic weight gone.

I am going to go to the gym tomorrow and get some walking in.  I'll let you know how that goes.  Tomorrow night is taco night at the Crawford house.  We have NOTHING to do...which is a change.  YAY!  Lots of family time :-)

So, what's my goal?  By the last day of school - June 5th.......
  • I want to be able to wear a 2XL t-shirt comfortably.
  • Lose 40 pounds.  That is 18 weeks away.
  • Pack up all 3CL t-shirts and put them away!
Totally do-able...right??!!  RIGHT!

Back to school....

After a three day weekend, it was time to get back to the daily grind.  I also made a few big steps into being motivated about myself.  I think I will just list them.....

  • No Bojangles on the way to school....that was a tough one...I love some sweet tea for the week.
  • I went walking at the gym after school.....it was only 20 minutes, but I've got start somewhere.
  • I had my first Chiropractor appointment. I talked with him about the numb fingers on my left hand and also about the fact that I needed his help with the pains of starting to workout with ALL of this weight.
  • I have only had one and a half Dr. Peppers today.  I would say that I easily drink 4 to 5 sodas a day...NOT ANYMORE!
Well, I'm just a day or two into this....but I'm moving in the right direction.  Every little bit helps!!!
